Art Teacher K-12
I graduated from Empire High School, 5 miles west of Duncan, Oklahoma in 1977.
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2005 from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
In 2008 I received my Master's Degree from Oklahoma City University.
In 2008 I received my Arkansas teaching certification from Arkansas Department of Education.
I continue to take many art classes geared to educating myself continually to become the best Art teacher I can for the K-12 students of Alpena School District.
I have attended and enjoyed numerous professional development workshops at the Harrison COOP.
Last year for the first time I attended and enjoyed the Arkansas Art Educator's Conference 2013-14 in Little Rock, AR.
I have attended and enjoyed numerous art workshops at the Eureka Springs School of the Arts, and love to learn new ways to create art; then I pass on what I have learned to all my students at Alpena School District K-12.
I have been teaching K-12 Art at Alpena School District since August, 2008, and love working with the Elementary and High School students of Alpena School District.
I began substitute teaching when I was 22 years old for my Empire High School History and Psychology teacher who was on pregnancy leave. Prior to teaching at Alpena, I taught Music to students at Clear Spring School, I taught Music, Science, and Reading to Middle School Special Education as a Para-Professionial at Berryville Public School in Berryville, AR., Pre-K at Eureka Springs Elementary School in Eureka Springs, AR., and Kindergarten, Alphabet Phonics, and Music at Clear Spring School in Eureka Springs, AR.
I have been married to my husband Matt Quigley since 1993, for 21 years.
My husband has one son, and 3 granddaughters who reside and go to school in Springdale, AR.
We no longer have any pets, but look forward to adopting a couple of Manx kittens someday.
I love learning new things, especially anything related to 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional art. Naturally, I try to figure out a challenging and fun art lesson to share with my K-12 art students at Alpena.
My hobbies are swimming, bike riding, reading, singing, riding 4-wheelers, and being outdoors.
When I am not teaching, you can find me working on a painting. My favorite art medium is oil paint, while I also enjoy water color and acrylics . I love to travel, enjoy outdoor activities, and love to cook, new recipes are always fun to try! My favorite activity is always spending free time with family and friends! To me, family and friends are NUMBER 1!
