Representatives from the Boone County Educational Cooperative will meet on July 23rd at 6:30 PM in the Harrison School District Administration Building at 110 South Cherry Street, Harrison, AR 72601 . This meeting will be led by BOLD Planning to kick-off the development of Boone County Educational Cooperative Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan will cover the Alpena School District, Bergman School District, Harrison Public Schools, Lead Hill School District, Omaha School District, and the Valley Springs School District. This plan will address their natural hazards’ vulnerabilities and will comply with state and federal regulations. The public is encouraged to attend and ask questions, provide input, and express any concerns they may have.
The Alpena School District, nestled in the town of Alpena, is a public school district, located in Boone County, Arkansas, serving approximately 550 students from Boone, Carroll and Newton counties. The Alpena Elementary School nurtures students while providing interactive learning opportunties for students preschool through sixth grade and Alpena High School engages students in grades seventh through twelfth grades. The high school partners with local colleges, universities and technical centers to provide the best opportunities for students in order to be college and career ready, whether it be through local credit, concurrent credit or digital learning experiences. The Alpena School District employs nearly ninety professionals and staff members who work collaboratively, placing student needs first.
